Black And Tan Colour Pomeranians. Description and in-depth information

Thorncroft Black And Tan Adult Female

Thorncroft Black And Tan Adult Female

This page is for introducing you to the beautiful colour pattern - called - Black And Tan.

  • On this page I am going to explain from birth to adulthood - how the puppy develops.
  • A tiny newborn puppy is sometimes difficult to assess the coat colour. - But with a Black And Tan colour Pomeranian the exact and defenate indicator is " - underneath the tail and around the anus - a true black and tan pup will defenately have tan markings."

A new born black and tan puppy can be very hard to see the tan markings - because the coat is black, and the markings will be very small.

Sometimes you can already see the fine marks above the eyes, cheecks, legs and chest. (But you have to have a trained eye for this).

But the markings under the tail is a surething to determine if he is a true black and tan or not.

It is stipulated in my colours page exactly where the markings placement should be. You do get Pomeranians that are black and tan, but are poorly or incorrectly marked.

A correctly market Pomeranian is absolutely gorgeous and when they are adults "in my opinion" - the markings define the facial features beautifully.

  • All the puppies on this page are pups that I bred over the years and is for informational purposes only. They are all with their new owners. The photo gallery serves to show and illustrates the different facial features and coat tipes (but the markings must always be placed correctly).

As they grow the tan pattern starts to be more visible and defined.

Five and a half weeks and @ three months of age.

Here it is very visible the correct markings of a black and tan puppy. I love this little man's expression. He looks so serious but is in actual fact a real little goofball.

You can clearly see the facial development from 5 1/2 to 3 months of age.

Can you see the difference from the photos of new born, to a few weeks in development to three months how the tan pattern is more and more clear. The small tan marks gets more evident as the pup grows. Defining and framing the face beautifully.
